Our Inspiration

Our inspiration - we have been inspired by beautiful places and by nature, and this has helped us in the design of our garden.

Guatemala - Marie worked as a volunteer nurse there for more than 2 years.

Winterbourne Gardens in Birmingham were close to the hospital and university where we trained. We were particularly impressed by its oriental feel with its bridges, acers and gunnera manicata.

Exbury Gardens - Tony is from Hampshire and early on in our relationship we fell in love with azaleas and later, as a family, we enjoyed visiting these gardens

West Bengal, India- we both worked for 9 months as volunteers in a rural hospital in 1977

The Eden Project - gave us food for thought

Shugborough Hall - with its topiary

China - we visited several beautiful gardens there whilst on holiday in 2001
